เดี่ยว (ฌานิศ ใหญ่เสมอ) เด็กหนุ่มลูกกำพร้า ได้ร่ำเรียนมวยมาจากพ่อซึ่งเป็นนักมวยเก่าหลังจาก พ่อของเดี่ยว (เจริญทอง เกียรติบ้านช่อง) ตายได้บอกให้ออกตามหาเพื่อนชื่อโกร๋น ซึ่งเป็นเพื่อนรักแต่เก่าก่อนที่หมู่บ้านใต้เมื่อเดี่ยวมาถึงหมู่บ้านใต้มันไม่รู้จักใครจึงต้องไปขอ หลวงพ่อ (สีเทา เพ็ชรเจริญ) อาศัยวัดเป็นซุกหัวนอน ที่นั่นทำให้เดี่ยวได้เจอกับ ทับทิม (นพวรรณ ศรีนิกร) สาวสวยประจำหมู่บ้าน จนเกิดความรักกัน

เมื่อ พ่อของทับทิม (โย่ง เชิญยิ้ม) รู้เรื่องนี้เข้าก็ไม่พอใจ พยายามกีดกันคนทั้งสองออกจากกัน เพราะพ่อของทับทิมต้องการให้เธอแต่งงานกับ สมมาตร หรือ มาด (ธนิสร สัตยมงคล) ลูกชายของ กำนันเข้ม (โน้ต เชิญยิ้ม)

สมมาตร เป็นนักมวยเก่งกาจของหมู่บ้านใต้ แต่มีนิสัยเกะกะระรานชอบหาเรื่องคนอื่นเพราะถือว่าตัวเองเก่งมวยและเป็นลูกชายของกำนันเข้ม วันหนึ่งขณะที่สมมาตรกำลังรุมทำร้ายชาวบ้านคนหนึ่งอยู่นั้น เดี่ยวได้เข้ามาช่วยชายคนนั้น ทำให้สมมาตรไม่พอใจ ทั้งสองจึงทะเลาะกัน ก่อนไปสมมาตรกล่าวคำอาฆาตผูกใจเจ็บเดี่ยวไว้

หลังจากนั้นไม่นานเดี่ยวได้รู้จักกับ อาจารย์โกร๋น (เทพ โพธิ์งาม) คือโกร๋นที่มันตามหา อาจารย์โกร๋นมีลูกศิษย์คนสนิทของชื่อ หมึก (ชูษี เชิญยิ้ม) ซึ่งชอบเล่นการพนันเป็นชีวิตจิตใจ วันหนึ่งหมึกไปเล่นการพนันที่บ่อน เฮียย้ง (ถั่วแระ เชิญยิ้ม) แต่ถูก สมพงศ์ หรือ พงศ์ (ปราปต์ปฎล สุวรรณบาง) ลูกชายของเฮียย้งโกง จนเป็นหนี้เป็นสินมากมาย สมพงศ์ขอให้สมมาตร เพื่อนสนิทของมันมาทวงหนี้กับหมึก

เมื่อหมึกไม่มีเงินให้ สมมาตรกับพวกก็รุมทำร้ายหมึกจนสะบักสะบอม เดี่ยวซึ่งบังเอิญเดินผ่านมาเจอได้เข้ามาช่วยไอ้หมึกไว้ เพราะมันรักหมึกเหมือนพี่ชาย เดี่ยวคิดจะช่วยหมึกลงแข่งควายกับสมพงศ์ และต่อยมวยกับสมมาตรในงานประจำปีของหมู่บ้าน เพื่อหาเงินมาใช้หนี้แทนหมึก เดี่ยวชนะทั้งการแข่งมวยและแข่งควาย ทำให้สมมาตรและสมพงศ์เจ็บแค้นในตัวเดี่ยวมากขึ้นไปอีก และมันยิ่งแค้นมากขึ้นเมื่อเห็นทับทิมมีใจให้กับเดี่ยว

คืนนั้นหลังจากการแข่งชกมวย เสือเม่น (อภิชาติ ชูสกุล) ลอบเข้าไปตัดเศียรพระในโบสถ์ เดี่ยวเห็นก็ตามไปขัดขวางระหว่างทาง สมมาตรและสมพงศ์ซึ่งไม่พอใจเดี่ยว ได้แอบดักทำร้ายเดี่ยว สมมาตรใช้มีดฟันคอเดี่ยวขาดตายคาที่

ท่ามกลางสายฝนที่โปรยปราย เสียงฟ้าร้องคำรามก้อง บังเกิดสายฟ้าฟาดผ่าลงตรงเศียรพระนั้นละลาย หลอมรวมเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกับร่างเดี่ยว เดี่ยวฟื้นคืนชีพขึ้นมากลายเป็นผีหัวขาด กลับไปจัดการกับพวกมารศาสนาและชำระแค้นกับคนที่ฆ่ามันรวมถึงสามารถตัดหัวเฮียย้งได้สำเร็จ นำความสงบสุขกลับคืนมาแก่หมู่บ้านได้อีกครั้งก่อนที่ร่างของมันจะหายไปพร้อมกับแสงตะวันของวันใหม่ และหัวใจรักของทับทิม.
