- ล้างขวดด้วยน้ำสะอาด 2 รอบ แล้วใช้นิ้วมือถูที่ขวดเบา ๆ ดูว่ามีคราบนมหรือผลิตภัณฑ์ทำความสะอาตกค้าง หลงเหลืออีกไหม ดมกลิ่นขวดว่ายังมีกลิ่นนมหรือเปล่า หรือมีกลิ่นนมตกค้างไหม ทั้งนี้เพราะขวดที่สะอาดจะต้องไม่มีกลิ่นอะไรเลย
- ล้างเสร็จก็คว่ำผึ่งกับตะแกรง หรือภาชนะ โดยต้องผึ่งให้แห้งกับลมดีที่สุด ด้วยเหตุว่าแสงแดดมีโอกาสที่จะทำให้จุก และพลาสติกเสื่อมสภาพไวจากนั้นก็ยกเข้ามาเก็บให้เรียบร้อยเพื่อรอใช้งานต่อไป

วิธีการฆ่าเชื้อขวดที่เหมาะสม ปรับใช้ได้ตามต้องการ
ในการฆ่าเชื้อชิ้นส่วนต่าง ๆ อย่าง ขวดนม พีเจ้น หรืออื่น ๆ แนะนำว่าใส่ในหม้อต้ม 20 – 30 นาที ต่อไปก็นำชิ้นส่วนขวดนมขึ้นมาวาง แล้วผึ่งลมให้แห้งก่อนนำไปใช้งาน หรือจะฆ่าเชื้อด้วยหม้อนึ่งไฟฟ้าก็ได้เช่นกัน โดยใส่ชิ้นส่วนแต่ละชิ้นในหม้อนึ่งเติมน้ำลงไป แล้วเสียบปลั๊ก ส่วนระยะเวลาการนึ่งก็จะต่างกับแต่ละยี่ห้อ ซึ่งต้องรู้จักอ่านวิธีใช้งาน และคู่มือก่อนเสมอ สุดท้ายคือการฆ่าเชื้อด้วยน้ำยาฆ่าเชื้อ ที่แค่เติมน้ำลงภาชนะแล้วเติมน้ำยาฆ่าเชื้อลงไป ผสมให้เข้ากัน แล้วเอาชิ้นส่วนต่าง ๆ ลงไปแช่ทิ้งไว้ 30 นาที หรือตามคำแนะนำเป็นอันเสร็จ
